I'm a half decent artist with a love for video games. My ultimate goal is to work in the industry and make games for a living. For the moment though I work as a jack of all trades artist for a general art team.

It would be surprising if it doesn't. That was a good vid bro. I'm just starting to learn my way around the programs and sprites was the first area I was looking at. I hope to become that good one day, tho I know I have a loong way to go. If u could give me tips or somewhere I could start that'd be great!

The medium does not matter (whether it be sprites, 2d, 3d, clay, traditional, etc.). It is quality that matters, and "I Dream in Retro" was brimming with it. Fantastic work.
Bad sprite work <does> tend to be badly received.
Good sprite work is well received.
Great, original sprite animations, with excellent custom sprites, a clever idea and plot, great execution, well animated and even slightly humouros, is not only well received, but is a strong contender for becoming something of a hit.
